Nancy Oswald's workshops can be tailored for various group sizes and needs. She also does Skype School Visits and has teacher's guides available for selected books.
Throughout the years, Nancy has been a guest speaker for service groups, local history groups, libraries, and other educational organizations. She loves sharing the history behind her stories and about the people that lived in Colorado's past. One favorite topic is sharing about the Jewish Colony of Cotopaxi in the early 1880's, but she also has books set in Cripple Creek, and in Eastern Colorado where she researched the events leading up to and surrounding the Sand Creek Massacre. In addition to this, Nancy enjoys speaking about writing and her own path to publication.
Nancy’s writing workshops cover all aspects of writing and the writing process. Depending on the ages, grade levels, and student and teacher learning goals, workshop can be tailored to meet class needs.
Another exciting part of her school visits is connecting students to the past using her historical fiction books. She uses old photographs and artifacts to help participants learn about the history of Colorado and the in-depth research needed when writing historical fiction novels.
